Plantarium: Plant ID & Care — Frequently Asked Questions
Is Plantarium free?
Your plant collection, care reminders, and library browsing are free forever. Identifying a plant, mushroom, or pest with the camera is a Premium feature, since each scan uses paid AI processing. See pricing in the app.Why is there no free trial scan before I subscribe?
Every identification costs us money to process, so we can't offer any free scans — that's why the free tier is 0 scans rather than a limited number. Some plans may include a discounted first period instead; check what's shown at checkout. How accurate is the plant/mushroom/pest identification?
Generally good for clear, well-lit photos of common species — but it's an AI estimate, not a certainty, and can be wrong, especially for similar-looking species. Never treat a result as final, and never eat, touch, or handle a wild mushroom or plant based on the app's identification alone. See the safety note in our Support articles and Terms of Use.Can I use Plantarium to check if a mushroom is safe to eat?
No. Do not use Plantarium (or any app) as your basis for deciding whether a wild plant or mushroom is safe to eat, touch, or feed to a pet. Always get confirmation from a qualified human expert first, and contact poison control or emergency services immediately if you suspect any poisoning has already happened. How many scans do I get per month?
Premium includes a shared monthly pool across all scan types combined (plants, mushrooms, pests, diagnose) — the current number is shown in the app and resets monthly.Do unused scans roll over to next month?
No, the pool resets each calendar month regardless of how many you used.Does the app work without internet?
Your saved collection and reminders work offline. New identifications require an internet connection, since photos are processed by our identification service.Do I need to create an account?
No. There's no login — your device is your identity. If you buy on the web, we link your email to your device only so you can restore access later if you reinstall or switch phones.I bought a subscription on the website — how does it get into the app?
Right after checkout you'll see an "Open the app" button that links your device automatically. If that doesn't happen or you're on a different device later, use You → Restore access in the app and enter the same email.I switched phones / reinstalled the app — how do I get my subscription back?
App Store/Play Store purchases: sign into the same Apple ID/Google account and tap Restore on the paywall. Web purchases: use You → Restore access with your original email. How do I cancel my subscription?
App Store and Google Play subscriptions are cancelled from your phone's own account settings (Settings → Subscriptions on iOS, Play Store → Payments & subscriptions on Android). Web subscriptions are cancelled via the link in your confirmation email or by emailing support@plantarium.io.Will I be charged again automatically?
Yes — subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period unless you cancel first. You'll always see the price and renewal terms before you first subscribe. Can I get a refund?
App Store and Google Play purchases go through Apple's/Google's own refund process. Web purchases follow our refund policy and your local consumer-protection rights (including a right of withdrawal in the EU/UK, where applicable). See the Support article on refunds for details. What happens to my photos after I scan?
They're sent to our identification-technology provider to generate a result. See our Privacy Policy for the full list of third parties we use and why.Is my data sold to advertisers?
No, we do not sell personal data. We do use standard mobile advertising/attribution tools (for measuring the performance of our own ads) as described in our Privacy Policy, which you can opt out of via your device's tracking settings. How do I delete my account and data?
Email support@plantarium.io and we'll delete it. Deleting the app itself doesn't delete anything from our servers. Can I use Plantarium for gardening/farming professionally, or is it just for houseplants?
Plantarium identifies houseplants, garden plants, wild plants, mushrooms, and pests — but its care guidance and diagnosis are general-purpose and educational, not a substitute for professional agronomic, horticultural, or veterinary advice for commercial or high-stakes use.How do I contact support?
Email support@plantarium.io for anything — billing, bugs, privacy requests, or general questions.
